Hello Parents,
We have reached the end of another school year. My kids (all four) will be in high school next year so I'm excited to see them learn and grow through the teen years. I'm also excited and blessed by the growth I've witnessed in your children over the last year of Sunday school. As we draw towards the end of the Sunday school year, I'd like to share what we're doing this Summer in Asbury's Children's Ministry.
Summer Sunday School
Summer Sunday school begins on June 12th and goes through Labor Day (Sept 4th). This year, we will be offering full hour Sunday school at both the 9:00 and 10:30 hours for all children (Ages 3- sixth grade).
Preschool Sunday School will be held in Room 302 in Fellowship Hall for ages 3-5 (including children going into Kindergarten in the Fall).
Elementary kids (entering First grade - entering 6th grade) will be held in the Chapel. Kids currently in Sixth grade who are going into 7th grade in the fall are welcome to attend if they wish also.
Lakeview Park Children/Family Outreach
We will be conducting our children and family outreach in Lakeview Park (Allen Blvd, Middleton) near the Splash play area again this Summer. The dates are July 18-22nd, from 9:30 till 7:30 each day. This is a drop-in event, where kids and families can drop in at any time, do activities, and then leave whenever they're ready to go. For activities, we do crafts, have food, music, and puppet shows for kids and their families during the day. Our goal is to connect with families who may be looking for a church home. Last year, we had over 300 families and over a 1000 kids participate in activities during the week. It is always great when Asbury families attend and our kids connect with other kids in the community, so please come and be part of our Lakeview Park outreach. There is no sign-up required, just stop by anytime during the week!
Asbury Vacation Bible School
Asbury VBS - Pandamania, will be August 1-5th from 9 am to 12:05. We have a great time each year. Last year we had 275 kids for the VBS week and over 100 volunteers. Please mark your calendars. VBS is always a highlight that you and your kids will not want to miss! Also, please forward this link on to anyone you know who might be interested in coming!
